What Is Instant Swap? And How It Differs From Spot Trading
You don't want to study the order book, you just want to “turn A into B right now,” and know the exact price before you tap — that's exactly what Instant Swap is built for.
1. What Is Instant Swap?
Instant Swap is a quote-based one-tap exchange service: you ask the platform “how much ETH can I get for 1,000 USDC right now,” the platform gives you a fixed quote, and tapping confirm fills at exactly that price. It's like an airport currency-exchange counter — the rate is on the screen, you hand over dollars, and you get the amount calculated at that rate. There's no order type to choose, and no partial fills.
2. Why Does the Quote Refresh Every 10 Seconds?
Crypto prices move continuously, and the quoting party needs to manage its own risk. Ten seconds is a balance point: for you, the window is long enough to read it clearly before deciding; for the platform, it's short enough that the quote always reflects the current market. Countdown ends and you haven't tapped confirm? The page automatically refreshes a new quote, and you'll never fill at an expired price — this is a deliberate protection design.
3. Swap Freely Among Five Assets
Any two of BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC, and USDT can be exchanged in both directions. One especially useful point: BTC swaps directly to ETH in a single step — on a spot order book this would need two trades (BTC to USDC, then to ETH), paying the cost twice and bearing the price change in between.
4. Where's the Cost Hidden?
Spot fees are explicit; Instant Swap's cost is embedded in the quote — showing up as a small spread relative to the market mid price. The platform offers a free allowance of 2,000 USDC per day, reset at UTC 00:00. A practical rule of thumb: for small swaps of a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, Instant Swap is almost always more cost-effective and less hassle; for a large swap, pull up both the Instant Swap quote and the spot order book and compare at a glance — if the difference is significant, go with spot.
5. The Division of Labor in One Line
Instant Swap = “I just want to get this exchange done”; spot = “I want to control how it fills and squeeze out every cent of price.” Use spot for active trading, Instant Swap for occasional exchanges.
6. Two Things to Note
Only available funds in the Spot Account can be used for Instant Swap — funds in the Futures Account must be transferred back first. Also, Instant Swap is not a cross-chain bridge: it exchanges one asset for another within the platform, and won't move an asset from one chain to another.
FAQ
Q: Is there a cost for swapping USDC to USDT too?
A: There's a tiny spread. Both are pegged to the US dollar, but the peg is approximate, and Instant Swap reflects the actual small price difference in the market.
Q: What if the quote countdown ends?
A: A new quote is automatically refreshed; just decide based on the new quote.
Risk Warning
The assets available for swapping, the allowance, and the fees are subject to the Instant Swap page. Only use funds you can afford to lose.
